FaKruTu: Dakar Edition

Guitar trio FaKruTu is teaming up with Senegalese musicians in their project FaKruTu: Dakar Edition. In addition to their music inspired by Thelonious Monk and Igor Stravinsky, African beats are now also part of the mix. Mola Sylla sings, Oké Sène drums, and Bao Sissoko plays the kora, an African harp. Together, these six men bring improvisation and danceable grooves to the stage, occasionally adding electronic sounds as well. This diverse combination of instrumentation and backgrounds creates adventurous, uplifting, and deeply soulful music.
