NAUSYQA
27 June 2024 - 20:50 - 21:30 | MOOD – Concert room
Inspiration comes from various angles for NAUSYQA: film soundtracks (yes, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is on the list), post-rock, drum & bass, producers like Floating Points, composers like Steve Reich and Olivier Messiaen, and the hectic and fluid rhythms of flamenco music. This diverse range of influences results in a blend of electronic and acoustic elements, characterized by soaring melodies, edgy improvisations, and expansive soundscapes.
NAUSYQA, founded in 2019, prioritizes the emotional impact of their music over aspects like virtuosity or style, although the band boasts highly skilled players. Leading the group as the main composer is Antonio Moreno, a Spanish-Russian trumpet player based in Amsterdam. With NAUSYQA and his other project, Chai Masters, he has garnered numerous prestigious awards. In 2024, NAUSYQA will debut their first album and embark on a release tour in the Netherlands and abroad. The group of friends aims to continue evolving as a band, performing concerts across Europe, and undertaking exciting projects.
