A fresh new start for jazz radio

This panel is Dutch spoken.

BumaStemra is reimbursing music on radio or TV in all forms. Payment here is significantly higher than for online use, and many composers in jazz and affiliated genres will therefore stress the importance of radio for their career. But the playing field is changing. While the NPO and its regular public radio stations in the Netherlands seem to be distancing themselves from jazz and global sounds and all their crossovers, other initiatives (from digital to old school) are ready to hatch. In this talk, representatives of composers and musicians as well as those working in broadcasting are challenged to take a positive look at what is and what could be. All conference visitors are welcome to contribute to the talk!
