Announcing the winner of the Boy Edgar Prize 2024

Thursday 27 June | 17:00 – 17:30 | LantarenVenster – Room one

The Boy Edgar Prize is the most important prize in Dutch jazz and improvised music. It doesn’t count as a lifetime achievement or incentive prize, but rather is annually awarded to a performing musician who uniquely contributes to the genre. As usual, this year’s winner will be announced during inJazz. The winner receives prize money of 25.000 euros and the exchange award ‘John Coltrane’ by Jan Wolkers. The winner is invited to put together a full evening program during the awards ceremony later in the year. Winners in 2023 and 2022 were, respectively, Monica Akihary and Ronald Snijders. Since 2022 the selection process has been organized by The Performing Arts Funds NL. The prize is supported by Buma Cultuur, Sena Performers and North Sea Jazz.
