Reflections on your practice as a composer

What image do you have of a composer? Are you ready to adjust that? Anne-Maartje Lemereis is the Composer Laureate of The Netherlands in 2024 and 2025, and as such a figurehead for Dutch music today. An independent jury decides who may bear the honorary title and for two years, Anne-Maartje will respond to current developments in society with her own compositions. In addition, as an ambassador she will stand up for the interests of everyone involved in our musical life, from composers and musicians to teachers. In her presentation during inJazz, she shares experiences and tips on how to live life as a composer as satisfactorily as possible.

If you have specific questions about your composition practice, you can also book a ten-minute conversation with Anne-Maartje during inJazz’s matchmaking sessions. Registration for the matchmaking sessions starts June 5.
