What’s injazz doing in 2024?

As the Netherlands’ main networking event for composers and musicians in jazz music and its affiliate genres, inJazz 2024 will be focusing on a powerful showcase programme, because the great new music created in the Netherlands is meant to be heard and enjoyed by audiences and programmers alike!

On Wednesday 26 June in Amsterdam (4 shows), and on Thursday 27 June in Rotterdam (13 shows), a total number of 17 carefully selected bands and projects will be presented through performances in BIMHUIS (Amsterdam), LantarenVenster and MOOD (Rotterdam). All concerts by Dutch artists will be recorded for on demand streaming through live.injazz.nl.

Around the showcase dates, inJazz will offer effective ways to connect the acts presented in various sessions to a group of promoters and other music professionals from all over the globe.

We are happy to keep you informed about all details through our newsletter, social media channels and website.

On Friday at Batavierhuis networking will be a bit more informal, where you have the opportunity to speak to everyone you haven’t spoken to yet. Mingle, chat, use the app and improvise!

Locations

BIMHUIS – Wednesday evening
Piet Heinkade 3, Amsterdam
BIMHUIS needs no introduction as the most iconic jazz club of the Netherlands. Since 1974 BIMHUIS is a hub in the national and international network of groundbreaking music. The early days were full of enthusiastic, progressive initiatives in jazz. BIMHUIS was created for and by musicians, a place where the traditional approach was kicked into touch, but where you got paid fairly too. Over the decades BIMHUIS professionalized in many ways, and in 2005 the current venue and café opened doors on the Piet Heinkade. Their activities are manyfold. Jazz history and young talent go hand-in-hand, concerts are live streamed and can be watched back 24/7 at BIMHUIS Radio & TV.

LantarenVenster – Thursday day & evening
Otto Reuchlinweg 996, Rotterdam
LantarenVenster is the theater for the better film and the best jazz in Rotterdam. With more than 9600 film screenings per year, more than 120 concerts, various major festivals, education projects, conferences and other public events, there is always something to experience seven days a week.

MOOD – Thursday evening
Otto Reuchlinweg 999, Rotterdam
In the former building of restaurant Las Palmas, you can go to MOOD Rotterdam for Asian dishes, including sushi boats and good cocktails. Asian and French cuisine, classic look with a personal character, MOOD by Eveline Wu combines a modern and trendy interior with excellent international cuisine. Next to the restaurant MOOD Rotterdam has created a new seperate area including a luxury cocktail bar. The place to gather before dinner, a Friday afternoon drink, or a stylish night out.

Batavierhuis – Friday afternoon
Pieter de Hoochweg 108, Rotterdam
The monumental Batavierhuis is an independent makerspace and incubator for (young) enterprising artists. In the Batavierhuis, all the smaller Rotterdam music threads, as diverse as the city itself, are fused into one big network. The building has an intimate stage where music is programmed, played and supported by the ‘Batavians’ themselves. Besides concerts, there is room for try-outs of productions that are still in a conceptual phase. Musical output at the Batavierhuis stands for improvisation, spontaneous jam sessions, workshops, master classes and more.
