* Digging the Archives
For Ilja it’s was obvious to dig up a piece from the archives from one of his big inspirators, Jerry van Rooijen (1928-2009). Jerry was a composer, arranger, bandleader and trumpet player who’s influence on the development of jazz in The Netherlands can’t be overrated pioneer in Holland. Ilja, who was a member of Jerry’s Dutch Jazz Orchestra chose this wonderful composition by Jerry with the very appropriate title: Because I Love You.
