Dareyn
Dareyn is an ensemble that brings together four distinctive musical voices, united by a shared passion for exploration, improvisation, and storytelling. Drawing inspiration from traditions that stretch across cultures while embracing contemporary expression, the quartet creates a sound that is both intimate and adventurous.
The ensemble features Emine Bostancı on the kemenche, whose expressive playing is deeply rooted in the rich musical heritage of the Eastern Mediterranean. Pianist Franz von Chossy contributes a lyrical and harmonically expansive approach, shaped by jazz, classical music, and global influences. Clarinetist Alex Simu adds warmth, virtuosity, and a unique musical perspective that effortlessly bridges genres. Percussionist Visent Planjer completes the ensemble with an inventive rhythmic language, providing subtle textures as well as dynamic energy.
Rather than fitting into a single musical category, Dareyn invites listeners into a space where tradition and innovation meet. Their performances balance carefully crafted compositions with spontaneous interaction, allowing each concert to unfold as a unique musical conversation.

*Digging the Archves
The piece Guus’un Bisikleti (Guus’s Bicycle) was composed by the illustrious Theo Loevendie (1930), who, like no other, knows how to bridge the gap between different musical genres. Loevendie’s work stands in a class of its own and is highly regarded in both the jazz world and the world of contemporary classical music. This piece is dedicated to pianist Guus Janssen and was first recorded for the album Inspirations (1995), which features kemenche player İhsan Özgen.
