Wolfert Brederode & Ella Zirina

Dutch jazz pianist Wolfert Brederode has been one of the most distinctive voices on the contemporary European jazz scene for decades. Graduating cum laude from The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he has released several acclaimed albums on the prestigious ECM Records label, including Currents, Post Scriptum, Black Ice and the recent Ruins and Remains, which won him an Edison Jazz Prize. Brederode’s rich and inventive playing has also brought him collaborations with internationals like Susanne Abbuehl, Yuri Honing and Arve Henriksen, and he performs widely across Europe and beyond.

Rising Latvian-born guitarist Ella Zirina combines lyrical melody with expressive improvisation. After studying in Amsterdam with highest honors, she has quickly established herself as a leading voice in modern jazz, with multiple albums – including her Edison-nominated debut Intertwined and the recent Boundless Blue, Sunset Hue – and appearances at major festivals like North Sea Jazz.

Together, Brederode and Zirina forge a sensitive and spontaneous duo dialogue, blending piano and guitar into moments of subtle interplay and deep musical connection.
