Orange Jazz Days 2026 + first artists

6 March 2026

The second edition of Orange Jazz Days will take place from 2–4 October 2026 at TivoliVredenburg. Following a successful first edition, the compact indoor festival continues to grow as a key national platform for Dutch jazz. It presents a focused overview of today’s Dutch jazz scene, highlighting the Netherlands as one of Europe’s most innovative jazz countries. The programme spans three days and brings together leading artists, emerging talent, and international music professionals.

Three days of Dutch jazz

Each festival day highlights a different aspect of the scene.

Friday 2 October focuses on strong artistic voices and intergenerational collaboration. The programme includes Eric Vloeimans with Hotspot presenting new repertoire, alongside a trio featuring Reinier Baas, Ben van Gelder and Han Bennink. Also performing are Hermine Deurloo & Erik Verwey and the Artvark Saxophone Quartet.

Saturday 3 October showcases the stylistic breadth of the Dutch jazz landscape. Highlights include the new trio of Michiel Borstlap, Benjamin Herman performing a tribute to Piet Noordijk, the Guy Salamon Group, Fay Claassen Quartet, the Brainteaser Orchestra, and the Millennium Jazz Orchestra featuring Fleurine. The programme also includes Valvetronic. In Club Nine, Space Is the Place hosts a club night ending with an improvisation relay.

Sunday showcases with partner injazz

Sunday 4 October is dedicated to emerging artists and is freely accessible to the public. In collaboration with injazz as a partner, a series of showcases will take place across several venues in the centre of Utrecht. These showcases present the newest generation of Dutch jazz talent and offer international professionals and audiences a concise overview of the scene. The full showcase programme will be announced later this summer.
